Pligg is finally a mature product and worthy of CMS consideration. My opinion was different several years ago. In fact, Pligg seemed slow and bothersome. Today, Pligg is perky, easy to install, easy to modify templates, and functions well enough to deserve greater attention.

Quora, a new startup from ex-Facebook employees including former CTO Adam D’Angelo, wants to inspire a massive user-created question-and-answer site to compete with Yahoo Answers and Wikipedia. On Wednesday, Mr. Ballmer, Microsoft’s chief executive, will unveil a novel take on a slate-type computer during his evening keynote at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, according to people familiar with Microsoft’s plans. The slate will be made by Hewlett-Packard and possibly available by mid-year, these people said.

I think Steve Jobs has it right. These big generic industry events need to be questioned. In today’s age of live internet feeds exactly why are we shipping everyone to one city where the wifi is non-existent or costs an arm and a leg or everyone fights for tower access. It’s almost like everyone becomes disconnected from the Internet–unless they pay through the nose for access. That shouldn’t be.
